John Idzik supports, feels “comfortable” with Mark Sanchez as a Jet

It has been a hectic week for new Jets GM John Idzik.  With the current cap issues, and now the drama with keeping or trading Darrelle Revis, Idzik has many problems to deal with.

On top of all this, the Jets still do not know who their starting QB will be next year.  According to John Idzik, there will “be a competition at every spot”.  But if you’re Mark Sanchez, a little support doesn’t hurt, especially from John Idzik.

Idzik is going to give Sanchez a chance at the job.   “I feel comfortable with Mark being a Jet,” Idzik told ESPNNewYork.com Jets beat writer Rich Cimini.

“I told him we’re going to add competition and everyone should be up for it. It’s going to make Mark, and everybody else, better.”  Idzik continued, and assured Sanchez is ready to go.

“He wants to get going with his new coordinator,” Idzik said. “He’s all about competing. I got a really good feeling from Mark.”

Due to the cap situation, no matter how Idzik spins it, Sanchez will be a Jet in 2013 no matter what.  Are the Jets accepting they may have to ride with Sanchez another year?  Who knows.

I believe the Jets can still get it right with Mark Sanchez.  Obviously, it will be a tough sell to the fans.

Idzik is the second person to show support for Sanchez this week, as Antonio Cromartie still believe’s Sanchez can be a good QB with a good supporting cast.

With all this support, it may be up to Sanchez if he can get it done in training camp.
